Crime.

A Serious Crime Committed by the Moroccan Police in El Ayun!!! Fireburning a Sahrawi ex-political prisoner

In their continuous process of the crimes perpetrated by the Moroccan authorities, and just a few days after the departure of the factfinding mission of the UN high Commissioner for Human Rights, the Moroccan authorities commits an unforgivable crime against the Sahrawi ex-political prisoner, Esaaidi Salek.

That was exactly on Sunday, May 28,2006 at 2:00 a.m. when a group of Sahrawi youth were organising a peaceful protest sit-in in Ezzemla district in El Ayun, Western Sahara, holding the Polisario flags and chanting pro-independence slogans.
The Moroccan police and other secret police agents arrested, Essaaidi Salek, Esserghni Maelainine and Hamma Baih. They took them to the Principal Police Center in El Ayun, under all kinds of insult, beating and torture. In the morning, the Sahrawi youth were taken to the Judicial Police center where they went through tough torture and ill-treatment.
A lot of Sahrawi citizens and the youth families who were on the place insist that they heard crying and then saw Salek Essaaidi endure his pain because of serious fireburning on the upper part of his body which was nude. Then an ambulance took him to the principal hospital in El Ayun, Belmehdi Hospital.
The other two arrested boys who were later on released declared that Salek Essaaidi was burnt in the Judicial Police center in El Ayun by two police agents whose names are EDDARII and AZIZ who poured a liquid on his body during the interrogation before they set fire on him.

Salek Essaidi is a handicapped Sahrawi ex-political prisoner who was born in 1986 in El Ayun. He was arrested on May 25, 2006 and was sentenced to two years emprisonment on August 03, 2006.
